Wherever you are, we can organize for you and your family or your friends, a day trip, in which you will get to know the Kastropolitia and the Sights of Monemvasia, with the V.I.P. Mercedes minibus.
Monemvasia is located on the southeast coast of the Peloponnese and is built on a limestone rock, which is 1.5 kilometers long, 600 meters wide and 198.5 meters high.
It is a small island that joins the Peloponnese, with a bridge over the sea of the Myrtle Sea. Castles and walls, old mansions, narrow cobbled streets, churches, old low arches, arches, coats of arms, marble imperial thrones, Byzantine icons give the impression of a fantastic city, untouched by the passage of time.
Entering the city, on the left is the house of the poet of Romiosynis, Yiannis Ritsos. Then, the main street, Byzantine cobblestones, which is the street of the market, leads us to the Central Square with the old cannon and the Church of Elkomenos Christ. Directly opposite is the historic 16th century listed building (mosque), which houses the Archaeological Collection of Monemvasia. From this point all the roads start, leading to all sides of the Castle.
After an uphill journey of 15 minutes, the visitor reaches the upper town, "Goula" as it is called, which has a wonderful view of the lower Town, the walls and the sea.
A little higher, the church of Agia Sophia dominates, built on the edge of the steep rock.
In the Castle there are 40 churches, including Panagia tis Chrysafitissa, Panagia Myrtidiotissa, Panagia tis Kritikia, Agios Nikolaos, Agios Stefanos, Agios Pavlos, Agia Anna, as well as the workshop and museum of silversmithing.
Nea Monemvasia (Bridge)
The new town of Monemvasia is built across the street, at a breathing distance, from the rock of Kastropolitia and is connected to Kastropolitia with continuous bus routes.
The new Monemvasia is a wonderful tourist settlement, with the best workshops of traditional sweets in the region, which gathers many visitors at all times of the year.
For your swimming there is the beach of Kakavos and a little further Pori and the beaches of Nomia.
We will finish the tour in Monemvasia by taking you back to the place we picked you up from.
